In guincho the winds are very strong...up to plus 40 knots.....usually 20 to 30 knots....gusty place....good waves.
Water tem: about 15 to 18 ºC.
Local scene: friendly...respect the surfers and windsurfers.
Best time: from march to september

Other spots to ride:
To north: Peniche, Santa Cruz, Lagoa de óbidos
To south: Costa da Caparica (Nova Vaga, Fonte da Telha, Lagoa de Albufeira), Troia

hey caged, you will have a great time in guincho! it's an awesome spot, friendly, just be safe and keep away from swimmers and beachgoers. the two things i'll add is 1 that wind can shut down or go offshore quickly towards end of day. in my experience, if you are out and the wind starts to be gusty or squirrely, go back in and play in the waves for a while because its a sure sign wind shift is coming. 2 due to thermal effect there, wind can start at 18-20 around noonish and reach 30+by 3 or 4pm so just keep that in mind. i'm moving to lisbon myself from hawaii in april (last visit was september). later! sar
