News From Day One:2XtM Kiters Launch!
The kiters began their 390 mile expedition on the Canadian border near Ambrose, ND on Highwy 42. The snowkiters, Sam Salwei, Jason Magness, and Paul Cassedy did not have much wind to work with, but did get the kites up in the air for a stretch near Hwy 5. They camped out near a small, frozen body of water just south of Hwy 5. The kiters are in good spirits and hoping for more wind.

2xTM is a snowkiting expedition in which three athletes are attempting to cross the state of North Dakota, from the Canadian border to South Dakota. The expedition is accompanied by a traveling educational program that uses snowkiting clinics and presentations to challenge ND residents to view the wind as a viable energy source.
The 2008 2xTM expedition launched this morning, and the team has begun trekking southbound. With only 5 miles covered, the crew has about 385 miles to go before reaching their goal. They will need to average well over 15 miles per day to make it on time.
