Royal Era Update

Postby Er Presidente » Sun Feb 03, 2008 8:56 pm

I keep hearing that there will be an update on the Royal kites and bars
does anybody have additional info or pics?

I own 3 ERAs and i love them. Such a significant upgrade from my previous Cabrinha 07 bows.

I also like the bar a lot now. I changed the defective spring and the safety works very nicely.

The only thing i dont like is that the mini 5th line (which in reality is a 4th line) after using the kite maybe 20-30 times need to be changed. This is something that has to be fixed with the new bar.

Anybody from Royal can give us some updates?

With a bunch of suppliers to choose from, the era is still my favorite kite to fly.

It looks like Royal has been working hard on both the gear and the service sides of the equation.

The addition of Tyburski as a north american point man was a good move.

I hope these guys can make a go of such a fickle hype driven market as I think their product has serious merit. The industry is certainly better off with them in it.

Both the kites and bar have seen changes since the first ones hit the market.

Covered LE seam, beefed up bridle line/attachment, multiple bar tweaks with options for a longer depower throw etc.

Nothing major... basically refinements to a very nice kite.

I too really like my ERA's. Just got a new addition to my quiver before ging to brazil with some slight changes. Kite flies the same so I'm really happy.

Probably one of the most balanced, predictable kites I've owned. (the14M) Backfilled my quiver with 06 Rhinos for more shock & awe.

Yes, that is one of the prototype bars that is floating around. Very cool and nothing like the previous bar. Like Chris said, more info will be released soon!

will it still have the front line kill through the bar? I really like that feature.

My first full quiver of kites has been with Royal. I have had many kites before but not a full quiver by on brand. I have a 14M,10M, and 8M Era. The kites are awesome and I don't really have anything bad to say. The kites pull a common characteristic through all sizes, they fly like C kites with additional depower. They don't like to fly de-powered beyond a point and all boost higher and turn faster than other kites in the range.

It seems people complain most about the bar, I don't have anything bad to say. The bar is a bit thicker than most and is great. the bar has the iron-heart release which is one of the best release systems. the bar has a secondary saftety that runs though to the chicken loop to a front line.

I hope royal improves but does not change.

:bye:
