Can anybody tell me the differences between these two kites? What is improved at the SB2?

Thanx.. :thumb:

I had chance to fly the SB2 & SB3 (10m) pretty much side by side in St. Lucia in mid December. The SB3 turns and flies a little faster than the SB2--bar pressure is about the same. Other than that, most of the changes are cosmetic. Same goes for the bar, the texture of the grip is different, but the mechanism is pretty much the same. Supposedly, the SB3 is more durable. Great all around kite.

I have SB3 10 and 14 and had SB2 10 and 14. The 14 is much improved in terms of turning speed and direct response. Hard to tell any difference with the 10 other than the low end is 2 to 3 kts lower on the 3. The construction of the 3's is vastly improved over the 2's.

In performance terms the SB3 is:
- less stall prone
- better bottom end
- turns a little faster
- maybe a little less top end.

In construction the SB3 is:
- lighter but stronger
- has better LE seams
- has 2 less pulleys on the bridle (one less per side)
- LE pulleys are on little leaders that stops them being ground into the sand and holds them at a better angle so they don't wear as much if they do jam.
- neoprene covers on the strut clips
- a one piece expandable bag.
