North Vegas 2007

Postby Sakellaropoulos » Mon May 19, 2008 9:15 am

Hey,

Buying a "Winter" kite... Light winds here in CapeTown, SA during winter except for the occasional North Wester STORM, or "Black South Easter"...
But for the next couple months, i'll need something to cover 10-20knts...

Any feedback on the 2007 Vegas...
Considering to buy the 14m.

I'm currently riding a 9m Bandit as my MAIN kite...
This will just be a cheap purchase, so i have something to ride with when the winds too light!!

Any comment welcome.
Thanks,

J

Or should i just rather go and buy an 11m bandit.. as i've heard it covers same wind range as conventional 13/14m kite...

2007 Vegas 14m is a bit of a dog. I should know ... I own one. It is OK when trimmed to full power but when you have depowered it and try to turn it, the thing wobbles like a jellyfish. Yuck.

2006 a vastly superior kite ... try and track one of those down IMHO.

I used to ride them in 06... then went Torches in 07, and have gone Bandit now in 08...
The windrange on the 11m bandit is 11/12-20 odd... thats more or less the range i want to cover.
My 9m gets me going in 15/16.. all the way up to 30....

So if the 07 Vegas aint that great, how the 08's compared to them...
Really don't want to go too far back (2006 kites etc)....

Maybe the 11m Bandit would be the better buy..!!?!?

North wind is spot on, the 2006 is mint and the 2008 is mint, I used to ride North, bang for your buck go the 2006 as theres nothing wrong with it. It has adequate depower, althought he 2008 has slightly more but thats not why you buy a C-kite for anyway. Dan Anderson one of Australia's most competitve kiteboarders likes the 06 or 08 over the 07 dog.......
Buy the bandit 07 over the 07 Vegas and avoid all those 2 pump T-Bar issues as well

If you are rich, buy the Vegas 08. If you like good value buy the Vegas 06. There is nothing wrong with the 06s just because they are 24 months old. i just bought a "new" 06 Vegas and it is awesome.
