Kites without logos?

Postby railgrab » Thu Jul 24, 2008 5:26 pm

Who makes kites without logos, or at least use only tiny logos which aren't too readable? Also, are there any kite companies which don't play the territorial dealer game between local retailers? Right now, my board, bar, and kite are all different brands and I have to shop at 3 different stores to get them, arrgh.

As far as I know Ozone is the only brand that makes custom " logo " kites . if you are looking for that .

Flysurfer has a kite designer option where you can decide what color you want your kite changing each pannel to what you want.. I think you can ask for no logo or small logo too.

Cool. The adolescent "bad boy" type of logo is pretty lame.
I mean, how many folks just aren't interested in "666" or "Freak dog," to name a couple?
I bet there are more people steered AWAY from brands by this kind of thing, than sales made.
I don't think it's terribly offensive, so much as low-class, and not alluring, if you get my drift.

For example, ask yourself, what kind of person are you going to impress?
Imagine, "hey babe, want to go on a date, I ride a freak dog."
Not going to score points, unless you are trying to impress teen boys....

Sorry to pick on brands, but, you must have seen it coming.

Actually BWD, I can get you a freak dog with no logos if you want.
Would you like us to put a Tommy Hilfiger logo on it for you?
That way you can show everyone that you are all about what you look like, instead of riding a great performing kite.
BTW, Your hairdresser just called- Your waterproof hairspray that you ordered is in... :girl:

I sort of agree with "strange" logo or brand images. I really like the Shinn boards, have not tried the kites yet, but I wont buy a "666" model. Not that I think bad things will happen, etc. lol. I just know how my friends and parents would react at the beach when I come in from riding and see a big 666 logo on my board or kite. By the way all you anti- religion freaks will be happy to know that I would get the same negative recognition if my board had curse words or naked people on it. Example; no matter how great a kite, I dont see myself buying a FU brand kite either just my thoughts.

yeah cool I need to spend some $$$ in local marketing (it is kind of mandatory in the reseller contract) so I could get a quiver with the company's logo on it !

Is it for instance possible to get a white (or dark blue) kite, only one color ?

In the old days .. More than once people came up to me and asked: "Is your name Peter Lynn?" F-No! ...another good reason to have moved on.

Branding I understand, but only adults who still have Mom do their laundry want 'signature' products.
