Brazil

Postby KiteRunner » Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:10 pm

We are heading to Cumbucu Brazil end of August/September.

Anyone has any feedback recommendations regarding accommodations?

Also, is renting a car necessary?

Any other important feedback would be great….

Thanks

Hi there

lots of infos here ...

www.CumbucoOnABudget.com

Renting a Car is not needed if you only want to kite on the beach ... its only seconds from most
accommodations to the beach.

Greetings from Cumbuco

find some accom. here:
http://www.kitebeaches.com/beach/cumbuco.html

to the right are some advertisers.

Rental is not needed. do downwinders to the lagoon and take a buggy ride for 10 Reias per person back to Cumbuco.

get together with other people and rent a car and do some trips around to Taiba, Paracuru, Ilha do Guajiru etc.

If we are on the ground for 6 days, is it really worth it to drive up the coast to Jeri, or is it better to stay in cumbucu and kite around that area? (including paracuru of course)

Thanks!

As Toby mentioned in an other post lately - there is a helicopter transport available for very cheap money. So travelling is definitely worth it.

I would visit for sure Flexeiras, and the spots around
For Praia da Barra - check the tides first

Good source for accomodation is www.cumbuco-guesthouse.com or at Thomas www.kiteshuttle.com

also Patrik and Aurelie at www.kitecampcumbuco.com

cheers Hacky

I would go for the best pousada in Cumbuco.
Porto Azul.
I am staying there right now, and I really do like it.

If you are with more people it`s always nice to rent a house! Same luxury as in a hotel (because of the caretakers) but way cheaper..
For example http://www.casadosventos.net only 90 euro per day including breakfast. And you can sleep there with 8 persons.

A car is not neccesary, but its always handy!

Cheers Jeroen
