Suggestions for a Custom Board Please

Postby xspataro » Mon Oct 13, 2008 2:58 am

ok i'm going to order a custom made board. The shaper is really experienced and has great criteria, but i would like to give the board my contribution. Like, performance-wise. he already has a superb platform but i dont know what to ask to make it my very own board.
any ideas????

go out and ride ten different boards. If you dont know what to ask for just tell him what you like and dont like about your current board(s)

I'll tell you where Im going with my custom boards...

more rocker between the feet which translates to more overall rocker 1.5"+ . I can do this with a continual 3stage and still have a super fast board that has no speed limit. this combined with the right tips and I can get ridiculous rocker (and mad pop) out of a efficient enough kiteboard

if I was to give this to another rider they would need to have 2m more kite.
the point is that nothin works for everyone.

What are you looking for in a board?!

If you want the best pop, soft landings and sweet feel, tell him to make you a big board like 136-140 with lots of rocker (1.8"-2.5"), very stiff in the middle, widely placed inserts and slap some boots. You will never go back. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Head to http://www.dcboardz.com and check out the THUG. THE custom board for bindings.

good winds!

have been a customer with rogue wave kiteboards for a long time. Still have my original boards too. Round rails and bomber constructions, have hit rocks etc. Nice stiff board, with good flex but not too much.

What's nice is that Lee will have time and make time to listen to you about your style, level, size shape, and design a board with you for a very reasonable price that comes in under production prices at shops or internet.

Give him a call, at least you will be able to discuss with someone who knows what they are doing. He worked with Jimmy Lewis but has his own style of shaping. HE has made me skimboards, huge fish, surfboards (strapped and unstrapped) and twin tips.

Give him a shout and support a small producer to have your board made with some love.
