The Evo is a good choice for beginners because it relaunches really easily, has pull and go power, and excellent feedback at the bar. Many experienced kiters, myself included, love those aspects of the kite as well. Last year North pushed the Evo as a beginner model, but this year they have slid it in between the Rebel and Vegas in its freeride/freestyle lineup. Personally, I think that is where it has been all along.
