Hyper Type 2 10.5m

Postby grappa » Wed Jun 03, 2009 7:49 pm

Hi.

Thinking of buying a HT2 10.5m .Got a 7m Rebel07 Solo9m 08 and a HT 12m 07 .
The 12m I find slow to start turning with a slight delay in the turn ,also a bit of a power spike which I'm not keen on ,on a surfboard . Never bother going out under 20mph and gone of big kites ,including the 12m HT .
Is the HT 2 much different from the original ? And does the 10.5m feel like a big kite (the 12m does) and would it be any good in small waves?
I'm 90kg ride fish surfboards in South Coast UK wind swell with 8 years riding .

Many thanks

Dave

The HT2s had a different character than the original hypers. Power is less spikey, for sure.
Feels smoother overall. I thought the 10.5 is a phenomenal size, it gives you tons of range. Close to the 12 in low end and close to the 9 in high end. Turning is smoother with the HT2, and it is much more stable overall. Most people didn't remark about the original hyper being slow, but if you're comparing the 12 to your 9, I could see why you feel that way.
-Cheers,
Jeff
