Wakestyle Kites

Postby goldcoastkiting » Wed Jun 24, 2009 3:41 pm

I have been riding for 5 years sp I am by no means new to this, I just sold my crossbow IDS kites as they werent really my style. I do alot of wakestylekiting and wake boardingso I like that constant pull. I was looking at replacing with either Ion 4s or switchbladeIDS. Does anyone have eny experience with either ofthese kites? I bought the xbows off the word of a kiteshop and was dissapointed and now I want some feedback from anyone riding these kites. Also is there any other kitesthat look good for 2010 that I should consider? thanks for your help

don't know about 2010 but obviously Liquid Force kites are ideal for wakestyle. LF riders are all pretty much wakeboarders

Hmm. Not so sure about that - Davey Blair left LF and so did Greg Norman Jr. As a matter of fact Greg is a Cabrinha rider now. I would say the Cabrinha Switchblade is a sold choice considering that the kite does everything and not just wakestyle.

^^^^^^Good list of Wakestyle kites, Cabrinha haven´t made a wakestyle kite that has worked in a while, maybe the new one? But probably not if you want a really consistent pull...

For me the Torch is the way to go...

yea ur so right, just look at their tricks page . all those all ugly wakestyle tricks. if only they had good kites, the tricks would have looked sooooo much better.

If you´re Andre Philippe then shit by all means the kite makes no difference.... No doubt he has more steez than most. But for learning the moves, and consistent pull etc, no question there are better kites....

@ Goldcoastkiter; I tried the Ion3, very nice kite, compared with my Torch4, so definitely try the Ion4, should be a nice easy transition from bows...

Nothing beats a straight C-kite for wakestyle.
It's a simple fact and no point in debating it.

Don't forget the Team Yarga from Best. Great kite (or so I hear) at a great price.
