Watching the local news(which is directed primarily for Oahu). The weathermen forecasted light to moderate trades all last week(10-20mph). It was blowing 25-35plus almost all last week on Maui. Yes, it has been a weird year, so there is no guarantee, but Maui nukes alot and blows almost always more than the other islands. Now surf on the other hand-especially south swells, Maui is almost always smaller than Oahu and Kauai-which score way better than Maui. Anyway, Check out mauiwindcam.com. They've got live streaming HD video of Kanaha with current or past windgraphs. Primarily focused on windsurfers, but some kiters cruising in the background too. Kitebeachcam.com can be good sometimes..check out the Waiehucam.com and you can zoom in on Naish beach and Kite beach and get a good idea on how many kiters are out and if it's good.

I agree
I was there in July
The wind is always stronger than what is forecast.
People were kiting on 7 or 8 m
