Here's a intermediate riders point of view on the 2009 LF 133 recoil for what it's worth
I've got about 50 or 60 hrs on it so far. Mostly ocean and some river riding. I've not had it on flat water yet. I'm 140lbs. I went from the 151 LF proof to the recoil so I found a big difference in edging. I still don't feel much flex with it and I still get the occasional face wash, but not as often now. It's fairly heavy but not a big issue. I use it in very small (2-3') waves and it seems to carve nicely. I like carving turns with it as long as the waters not too rough.
The straps are easy and quick to adjust but they wore quickly and started to chafe my bare foot, I've since replaced the straps but I think I can modify them so they're more comfy with bare feet.
It's certainly way more fun than the proof I used to use and it goes in almost as light of wind as the proof, probably cause I can edge it much better.
It's my first real board since ditching the proof and I'm finding the more I ride it the more I like it so far.
