Newbie Englishman in Spain

Postby Begbie » Mon Feb 09, 2009 2:27 pm

Have just been bitten by the bug and keen to get going. Had a taster course in Tarifa and am due to get some more training in with some friends, but would like to know some suggestions on the best kit to buy.

Will probably buy some ex-school kit to learn with but have no clue what is the best brand for basic freeride kite surfing.

any advice much appreciated.

In Surf Center Arte Vida in Tarifa you can try the North Evo´s 2008 and 2009, the 2008´s slingshot Rev and Airush DNA... all of them really easy for new riders... we have a few second hand kites and boards for sell... but first you should try them...
We open every day from 11 to 17:30 ....

I´m new here as well, my kite beach will be Tarifa Spain
I want to start kiting next month, i had a 3 hour private lesson session last year.
I want to take a new lesson from a certificate (or experienced) instructor, next month

By the way i´m 42 years old, 85 kilo, i can windsurf and kite on land. Kite combination on water is new for me.
My base will be Tarifa, has someone an idea what i need to buy.

Hector, when you read this, are you the owner of the artevida surfcenter, can i take a lessons from a good instructor next month, i´m also interested in buying a kite equipement.

Thanks for any answers

Ber

Hey Ber... yes I´m the owner of the Surf Center Arte Vida... come and see it your self... iko certified instructors... but profecional and friendly too :) ... nice enviroment and ambient (chill out - suntan terrace, hot water shower, changing room, wifi, bar and restaurant...) good and new equipment (North 2008 -2009 evos and xride).

We do quality lessons and fair prices for us private lessons is not a privilege is a choice
4 hr in 2 person group: 120€
2 hr in private: 110€... you learn the same but need to be in shape... think that we do water lesson from the first hour... no sand lessons for 4 hrs...

You can see some pictures at:
www.surfcenterartevida.com -- photo gallery
www.surfcenterartevida.wordpress.com

We have some second hand kites and recomend shoping at Wet (north spanish dealer)... but first you should do your lesson and see if like it and conditions in Tarifa...
Best regard...
Hector.
