hey guys
my names alex
im 17 and ive skated off and on since i was twelve. ive dabbled in a little longboard surfing and skimboarding and will soon be moving to the south padre islands and im stoked to get into kiteboarding :D.
all i kno about the sport is fromreding the kiteboarder internet magazine youtube, and a few company websites.
im deff into the freestyle moves ecspecialy when theyre done really fast and
kiteloops they just make me want to jump off my house so i can feel wat its like to get that kind of air :jump:
im homeschooled and i finished my second semester already so im going to be able to ride all the time to the end of summer
and my mom has offered to buy me any gear i want but that means i only get one kite and one board
sooo i dont want to get a noob kite and grow out of it in a month or less and have nothing to move onto
good thing though is im fairly small im pushen about 140 pounds so i think ill be able to have a little more wind range in a kite or am i wrong :o

i really like ruben lenten style and what he does with the fuel
would it be a bad idea to get his kite and board
or do you guys have any other suggestions on what kites and boards i should look at or try before buying that would be great :cool2:

Hard to do a 1 kite quivver here especially with a C kite.

Summer is pretty slow but you can find some thermal winds which are pretty steady. Most guys around 200 lbs are on 12 M SLE kites.

Spring and Fall are driven by frontal winds. You can have 10 mph 1 day and 40 mph the next. My kites range from 6-17 M.

Take some time to get good at flying a trainer kite now. Kite skills are more important than the board.

Jeff at Air-Padre has a great system for giving lessons. Definitely hook up with lessons and get some experience and ideas what gear is right for you before dropping a ton of cash on something that isn't right.
