Vegas 2009 settings? Questions

Postby Dr_Rosen » Wed Oct 07, 2009 7:50 pm

Tried my Vegas 10m, 2009 yesterday (first time) and again today.
Really nice kite, however flies very different from anything else I've tried.
That might be due to the settings, I don't know?

Anyway, have a few questions I hope someone can help with.

Right now the kite is set up in the "New School" setup. In this setting if flies extremely much on the front lines, so if you push the bar away a little the steering lines get slack and it turns slowly. I will try to change it to "Freeride" setting and see what that does. questions:
1) How will it change the behaviour of the kite?
2) I have 2 small pigtails to use on the 2 frontlines when changing to Freeride setting. But what about the 5th? Shall all 5 lines still be equal length so that I need to change the length of the 5th also?

Another question
3) when I pack up the kite and take the air out of the struts I use that little pin that I put into the valve. Should I leave it in or can it damage the bladder when rolling it up?

thanks !! :)

Put the front line extenders on and don't worry about the 5th. I fly it with the front lines in the forward position and the rears in the most aft position.

The kite will turn faster and have better de-power.

Remove the deflate tabs before you pack it up, if you leave it in it can cause the one way valve not to work.
