Ok i am new to this apart from using a 1.8m stunt kite a dozen times or so.
i have just got a 14metre Naish.
iprobably think it's well outta my league but it was a bargain so i could n't refuse.

however i need to get lines and bar, and need some advice on what to get.

also i need to know well i guess i know that this size kite is designed for kite surfing yes?
will it be able to be used on the beach or on ground as i would really like to concentrate on kiting on ground, ie in the park for jumping etc.

plz go easy on me!!

hey bro. Well I would never jump in a park with anything over a 9m. Actually I would never jump in a park with a kite. But i do jump on my beach (huge and wide beach with softttt sand) with my 12m and 9m. I get plenty of air with the 9.

Were gonna need to know the model of the Naish kite to help you out

don't try anything on land, that's where people get hurt and killed.

go into the water, and make sure that you have someone who can help you launch and land. During that, stand in the water.

Did you do lessons?

The 14 is ok if lighter winds, don't use it in more than 15 knots until you know how to ride.

do you have a picture of the bar too? Because I assume it is old too and dangerous...

Doing this will get you hurt... Probably on your first attempt. Get some lessons and a smaller kite, your "bargain" is a lot of pain waiting to happen.

ok lets say i'm gonna keep to the sand and water and on VERY light wind, preferably with no people apart from myself and my friends in the near vacinity!

2004 should be X4 but it looks more like the X3. Dude deal here is if you paid more than $50 for that kite only you did not get a bargain. If this is the X4 I would have to advise you to get rid of it and get something with a bar that will work. The X4 is an all power all the time kinda kite.

If you really have to keep this kite get a 5 line bar. the X3 or X4 was not made for it but you can attach an extra line from the pump attachment point and use it 5th line mode. will help you relaunch and make the kite safe.
Seriously though you are not doing yourself any favors with messing with this kite.

by the time you spend the money on the bar and however much you spent on the kite, you might as well and spend an extra hundred and find a used 2006+ waroo. Those would be way safer for you to "play" with. I dont know much about that kite besides its a C and doesnt appear to have a 5th line. In other words its like going to drivers training in a lamborghini.
EVERYONE including me are going to recommend that you dont do this. But in the end its your body and life. (I did the same thing you want to do {but with a newer kite} and wish I never did)

if i tell ya what i ideally want to get out of kiting, where i would like to do it etc, maybe you can give me some suggestions as what to go for.
i want to get dragged and lifted about, which is why i bought a large kite
i'll mainly be doing it on the beach, not so much surfing but on sand.

so what kind of size would i need?
2 line or 4 line?

well I have a 3m two line foil and a 9m & 12m SLEs. Yes the 3m does pull you around but not very fun for jumping. (I use it in 15-20mph typically)

If you are looking for a kite that you can jump with then i would go for a 6m. That way you aren't strapping yourself in to a freight train. Get a bow or SLE.

Make sure to video your first times using the kite!


On a side note: I recently found a 2001 kite at a garage sale and was gonna pay at most 40$ for it. The lady wanted 300$!!! I told her it was worth nothing and dangerous. She proceded to tell me that she was planning on using one of those leather weightlifting belts to "hook in" and get on her rollerblades in a big parking lot the next day.
I told her go for it. Should work great!!!! hahaha jk.
At least you dont sound as reckless as her.
