anyone with JN Mr Fantastic or PD3 experience?

Postby Chriskef » Mon Mar 29, 2010 3:15 pm

Hi

Come across a couple of 2009 kite options which may suit me. But, finding it hard to get any rider reviews (I've read some mag reviews ). Looking at the 12m Mr F or 13m PD3. Low end and boosting really the factors I'd like to compare, esp. for 95kg experienced rider.

Thanks chris

i am riding the pd3 for one year now and i am super happy with the kites,
It is a perfect freestyle kite and also you can make super nice mega jumps and kiteloops with it.

also the quality of the kite is super strong really unbreakable if you ask me.

I rode the PD for about 2 months during the end of 2009. A very nice c-kite, very stable, and consistent. The loops are powered and sweet.

If you are looking for a c kite, this should be on the list to try for sure.

i've ridden a pd3, its great for boosting, and as its a fast kite can be worked well for low-end.

apparantly these places stock JN in greece... you could ask if any of them could let you demo the kites?

Thanks everyone, esp. Afro. I already contacted these guys today but actually found a Greek shop somewhere else that has a 12m Mr F & a PD3 13m, in used but good condition. I think the PD3 would suit me best though.

I've flown both kites (but not the same size neck and neck so can not say about low end...).

You got to determine (IMO) which type of kite you want - as they are completely different.

Primadonna is an awesome C kite, with lots of bar pressure (as most has) and less depower but lots of turning power.

Mr Fantastic is much more a "flat" kite, with great hangtime and lots of depower.

I like both, but they are VERY different in nature :thumb:

------

The best single kite I've ever flown, was Mr Fantastic in 8m2 :D

It has such a huge windrange, and we could fly this kite in the same wind as others were on 11m2 kites, and it still has lots of upper end compared to other 8m2s.
THAT is an amazing kite.
But the other sizes dont have the same extreme range it seems - for some reason the 8m2 felt like both a 6m2 and a 10m2 and very very pleasant too...
Off the topic, I know, would just share what I experienced last year with the 8m2 :naughty:

To my understanding the PD kite has less bar pressure than other C kites. At least that's why I consider them. Unfortunately no demo possibilities here in Cph.
