Crypt or LaLuz

Postby M91420 » Sun Jun 12, 2011 11:16 pm

Contemplating getting a 135 Ug Crypt or Xenon LaLuz. Any advice?

I am mostly riding in NorCal and am usually on a 140 Mako but am looking for something to work on beginner unhooked moves at Sherman etc

Appreciate your input

I can't comment on how the Crypt rides but I own a Laluz 135 and luuuv it!

Hands down my favorite board of all time.

If you plan on getting boots at some point you may want to consider the Xenon Infra 139 too. A guy locally has one and it is sweet! rides a lot like the laluz just a little stiffer and designed to handle boots or foot straps.

Good luck picking a board. Lots of good ones out there so no matter what you'll be ending up with something good.

I must say i deal Xenon, but i know both boards.

Crypt is UND high end board. the only thing i've found better in it, & that is also only in a bit, is it's a bit faster going straight (not on the turns).

LL has much more comfort IMO, more pop & super easy landings (easiest ever ! anyone who rode it can say).

Another Issue is that the Crypt is very overpriced.

Good luck, both of them are good boards (La-luz would be my choice but i'm not nutral) .

I think that if you get a chance then try the Xenon La Luz, you will immediately fall in love.

From my experience the La Luz is more forgiving on landings than the Crypt and that is a main issue when learning New school unhooked tricks.

I don't know the UG, but i have the La-Luz 132 for two years in a row now.
I used to ride Caution boards, one of the reasons was their pads, being a lot thicker than other brands.
I started my unhooked tricks with the La-Luz and i love it.
The straps hold the food very good and the landings are soft, no knee problems here, and i hope that it will stay that way!
I always say, that if you can, try them both first, i never buy my gear just from recommandations.

if you're worried about pop, get a stiffer board. (if xenon, go infra)

if you're worried about landings, get a board with more rocker

can't comment on uground. haven't seen one in person
