What is it called when you unhook on the wave and just hold the chicken loop?
If there isn't a name, maybe we could come up with one.
Just two days ago, I wrote that I'm going to work on "unhooking on the wave and then just holding the chicken loop for as long as possible before having to hook back in like Ben Wilson did in that one flick." Little wordy.
I did it on snow a lot this winter. That is much easier than on the water!
Yesterday, Ben Wilson made that announcement. So I was thinking, how about the Wilson?

Ha, that didn't take long.
Kitesurfing is just a hobby; zero point other than recreation.
Go ask some guy on his third tour in Afghanistan "What is more Legit', powered wave shredding or focusing on the power of the wave?
Anyway, surfing the Great Lakes is tough. I'll take a day of lame surfing any day.

Seems like "chokin' the chicken" to me.
"Dude... I was like, chokin' the chicken for a mile, man."

Are you serious
Unhooking & holding just the loop is similar to some guy on his third tour in Afghanistan going into battle with mega super water blaster squirt gun.
Improper use of equipment is a a danger to you and you fellow soldiers.
It is usually better to use the your equipment the way it is supposed to be ridden.
I suggest depowering your kite before you unhook so you can actually hold onto the bar.
If you want a name for that I would have to agree with SS Kiter that is lame surfing
