Storm Kiter

Postby plummet » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:57 am

Don't know if the term exists before. but here it is.

Storm kiter!

Its not free style, not freeride, wave or wake, or even old school.

no.

you ache for gales and storms. you look for though silly coloured arrows on the weather web sites. youre favourite kite is your smallest kite. when most other kiters shake their heads and sit the session out but you grin, giggle, rig and ride.

when none of your board splash makes it to your face because its instantly chucked down wind, when you come back from that session and have the wild eyes and grin of a a mad man.

Then and only then you are a Storm Kiter!. ....

I guess the term is not used frequently because most of the "storm kiters" don't return to shore in bragging conditions ;-).

What??? You just need a small kite that loves high wind! My favourite sessions are 30knots+ on my 8m Catalyst, It's all about charging at a big wave top speed, sending the kite and......BOOM! I live for the scary feeling you get when you reach the top of a jump and you think that you will start to descend, but instead you catch another gust and you head straight back up again!!!

Check out the forecast for Cornwall, England this week!!!!! Gusts of 50Knots+ and 8 metre swell!! :o

Blade Trigger 5 is my most loved Kite in the range.
I wait for the days to use him and it looks very good for this friday.
