I need a new 08 hybrid 12m kite

Postby YNWA » Sun Feb 10, 2008 11:22 pm

I,ve been on the airush vapors in 07
but now i want to up grade to 08
the new vapors are 6 weeks away :x and i.m now kiteless
any thing come close in performance in the hybrid field?
i,m sick of reading biased reviews from dealers marketing their brands!
ive looked at the liquid force hi fi, havoc(looks more like a bow)
the nemesis hp looks high performing &
the new vegas looks good too, but maybe not as forgiving as the vapor
HELP

Vapour is nice i liked that..

Slingshot Rev is nice forgiving and so good int he light winds!

The vegas is a machine. Ive boought a quiver. Love them! They are very gentle if you want them to be.

Such a good windrange to. the 12 is good in 13 notts

depends what you want to do.
Do you want a five line hybrid ? I have been very impressed with the blade vertigo 12m.
The Takoon furia was nice too, if a bit expensive but more suited for waves I thought.
The Blade is nice and floaty and usually impresses those who try it.

Vegas is a stunning kite though being more C-like the low end is probably not quite as good as some of the flatter kites you mentioned. Huge depower though, massive jumps and kite loops pull like a train...

Check out the new Nobile NHP that is probably the closest to Vapor.

Check out the Eclipse thrusters.
I come from a Rebel and must say I like the Thrusters better.
Similar to a SS Rev, but maybe better low end.

I would think your shoud give the Royal ERA a go. It's the closest in feeling to a C, very good lowend and the stability, relaunch etc as you would expect from a SLE.

My personal opinion is that this is the best SLE for my style of rding which is freestyle and some waves.

The Rev is nice too - less power and more pivotal turning. Had a few sessions on the Nobile kites which are also very nice.

"Dangerous" thread or at least an invitation to a lot of biased opinions
Give Evan from Live2Kite a call, he can guide you! At least I have been very satisfied with his advices so far!

I just got a pair of RRD HT2's from him + a RRD Type 9.
Sounds like the Type 9 would be your thing........
