stopper on the rev?

why is it there? can i get increased depower if I remove it?

It is designed to prevent you sheeting out too far and causing the kite to luff (fall out of the sky). You will notice when the sliding stopper is against the fixed stopper and the bar sheeted all the way up the line, the canopy of the kite will occassionly 'flutter', any further and it will not fly.

I thought that the fixed ball is there to stop you over depowering the kite and so loosing its stability so risking the chance of an invert/and or stalling with back lines which would be really slack...i'm sure the ss guys will correct me if i'm wrong.

Why do you need more depower on a rev?? I've got the 15 and 11 and fully depowered to the fixed stopper it will sit on its tip on the beach with next to no pull

I asked myself the same question on that particular stopper... I think it is the:
just-change-kite stopper... riding the 11 on 25-30 knots gusts...

... Gotta get me a 9 or 7!!! or Both!!!

I think it is to stop the chicken loop line from going all the way in when you connect the leash to the end of it (the plastic trim handle) and drop the bar.

Scillyairhead is correct. If you pull in the de-power any further the kite will not fly correctly. The Rev flies best with about 1 inch of de-power rope pulled in. This is wind dependent. It still flies well with more rope pulled in. As a matter of fact, if you are un-hooking you will want to pull about 4 inches of de-power in.

and it also means if ure depower rope breaks u can still sail in cos that ball holds the rope.
