I believe that the cult
is supposed to be a tuned down sigma kite
intended for beginner to intermediate
perhaps appropriote for
wakestyle

in other words the exact opposite of what you would
want for surf of big boosting

it'd probably make more sense
for you, AA, to trade it in to your retailer for credit
towards a sigma Helix
if possible

What do you expekt from a 13.5 in waves? And are you expecting the kite to lift you bow-style when you sheet the bar in? If so, I can understand why you don't like it. However, the kite is lovely if you fly it more on the front lines when jumping. And the 2009 is a lot faster so you might like that one more. I have a 13.5 that I am completely stoked about. Great windrange and lovely to go unhooked with.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here...there is no 13 meter kite that is GOOD for wave riding. Some kites can be ridden if the conditions are right...the sigma kites are one of those. I never tried the 08 13.5...but the 09, jumps very well

Wouldn't less backline presure and shorter lines help?

13.5 for wave riding?
I imagine you took it out in light winds?
If you use a big kite for waves, you need more wind to make it turn.
Like me, I use my 12m with a TT when others are using a 7 or 9 m and a surfboard.
I love it.
I hate using it in waves with light winds. For the "duhh" reason!
The 12 or 13 m kites are the 16 -20 m kites of 1-2 years ago !

I must admit when I flew the 13.5 I did not like it, but I have to agree Paff anything bigger than a 10 sucks for wave riding .

I use 6m for waveriding... 13.5 is a wrong option.

although I would agree that the Cult 08 doesn't jump as well as the Helix.

R U talking about the 08 or 09 13.5? I must admit I have ridden a larger size than 12 for the Helix 09, but when testing the 08 13.5 I really think it jumped rather nicely...I could hold the kite in a lot of wind, and it did not pull my off my edge too early. anyhoo, did you try the larger size 09 helixes?
