One's for sale, but I've read some not so great reviews about it(too much rocker, poor in chop and going upwind, wobbly and poor foot-strap placement). Was that years version a dud? because I've read other years were good. Anyone ridden an 06/07'?

I ride the 07 model and absolutly love it. With or without straps. With them I think the placement of the straps is great for turns in the wave. If I want to go upwind, I only use the front strap.
I tried the 07 North Rocket (I think it was called so, the green one), the 08 North Bullet and a North Rocketfish. Of these the converse is by far the best. It needs a little bit more kitepower to go upwind, but that is ok for me. But as soon as you are on the wave it just does everything you want just perfectly. It even kept planing in a long bottom turn longer than the Bullet. I bought the Bullet for mushy conditions (not having have the chance to try bevore) but the converse is so much more fun. I will sell the Bullet again as soon as possible.

Footstraps placing only good for Felix (or like shaped rider),
I dented the top deck on my first test ride.
