Nokia Push Technology

Postby Toby » Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:18 am

The Nokia Push project is a celebration of ingenuity and open technology, and we’ve developed two prototypes designed to work with the Nokia N8 that push the boundaries of what the device can do.

One is the Push KAPing (Kite Aerial Photography) prototype. By using two Nokia N8s that communicate with one another, filmmakers can now fly one from a kite rig whilst using another on the ground to not only see, but also control exactly what is being shot in full HD from above.

You can see the film we created for Push KAPing here:

The other is the Push Skating prototype that takes the world of skate games away from the games console and back to the streets by allowing skaters' boards to communicate with their N8 to score every single little move they make.

You can see the film we created for Push Skating here:

But both those films just scratch the surface of what can be done with these prototypes.

What we’re really pleased to announce is that Nokia now have 4 of each prototype to give away to anybody who can inspire us with a creative idea of what they would do with one. All they need to do is submit an idea for the short film, event, show or Push moment they would create using one of these prototypes. Nokia will also be giving away a Nokia N8 and up to $1000 to produce their film.

Full details of this project can be found at http://nokia.com/push
