Yea,,,you woln't need those kites here unless you weigh 400 pounds. You should be able to get a good deal on one though!
I haven't had a 9meter in 4 years and kite about 200 days a year.

So, what do you think? 7 or 8mts?
How much wind do you have there on may usually?

been a few times
i ususally take a 7m and 9m, i find it hard to know what to take use - so much wind anything works but more a matter of what u can hold onto / is safe
i took a 13m too but that is know as a no wind day on maui and is rare - i was out at kitebeach on my own upwind doing tricks tho lol
some days were gusting into 40s - the 7m was a real handful - a 6m would have been good
i dunno, interested to know what most used kite size is as i would like to rock over there some time soon if air new zealand hasn't made the airfare the same as for flight 3x further as it did last year.. , i have ridden a 10m too there

I use a 8 most of the time and my 6 and 8 about a fifth of the time. Maui doesn't do well with light wind, just no power with light wind. That being said I've had lots of great days on my 10. Check out Craigslist for good deals... I have an older 10.5 naish cult for supper cheap if you just want to get out on the water, pluses some old boards.

Oopps made a mistake... I ment to say I only use the 6 and 10 about a fifth of my total time on the water. I weigh 170lbs mostly use a twintip and do like to ride powered.
