thank you but there are many types of ripstop nylon. I was just wondering if anyone had some scrap material so I could fix my kite. maybe even an old trashed kite I could scavenge some material from.

Its just spinnaker sail cloth so if you don't have a local kite shop, http://www.westmarine.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look up sail repair tape. It comes in rolls about 5-7cm wide (2-3") with adhesive back and is available in all kinds of colors. You can also get Dacron sail repair tape for leading edge and your struts to patch small tears and pin holes. Make sure you round the edges, no corners on your patch or it will peel up eventually.
