Another question, and I belive its the last: i've looked yeasterday for some big kites, and couldent find a used Dino around here, neither any of the one i looked. The one I found where either very expensive or news (and those are expensivier!) Are there any old kites that you yould recomend? Like X3, or any other?

1. Must have ML, Tons of people say its way to dangerous. manage your safety make some simple rules e.g. turn ML up and off before you launch, if your training and don't use it again turn it off. Take it slow and get use to it. I generally once on the water leave it on all the time. It will hook on me all the time but its reflex now to disengage it.

2. I would wait for the Dyno. I spent 3 weeks trying to find one, Toby sent me a place that had a few. but I managed to find I think the last one in the US. I personally love this kite for old school and it has the bar feel I love and great hang time. Again take it slow and get to know the kite if your just entering into big kites. Maybe buy a wind meter so you know what you can do (take the guess work out of the wind)

3. Get a small board this will help manage the power better.

When I got my 14m I was a little crazy at 80k to launch it in 20+ now I get crazy exited, but I know the kite and what I can do with it.

Three weeks ago I got the 16m Dyno. In my locations it was either 10kns or 20+. Toby informed me that I was a pussy and told me to suck it up and launch the !@#$ing kite.

4. If you get a 14m or 16m have someone around you trust to help you launch the first time in 20kns (after you've had a few lighter sessions on the kite). launch in a place that will allow you to flag the kite easy if you feel uncomfortable or its not 20kns its more like 25kns

Gusty is really shit for big kites.

For me I really like the micro loop so you can only buy the Core and North kites. I don't really like the core mirco loop so that leaves north kites. If your not going to get into the ML then there are many other great kites you can work with.

Yes, get slowly used to more power...and yes, a smaller board will help to hold that power (I am at 93 kgs and ride a 128x38 !!).

I never tried the RPM, so I don't know! I barely test...sorry, can't help with that!
But, from what I ahd in the past, a North Rhino2 is slow, hangs and lifts!
Also Naish X4, Cabrinha Crossbows, Flysurfer Speed...

Maybe ask in the main kitesurfing forum, what people's choice is if it comes to lift, hangtime and controlled steering and go from there!

It was no issue to hold the 16m at 20kns and 80k! Now all I want is 20kns

The kites have come a long ways as far as top end goes that's for sure!

Jump, take your board off spin it 360, have drink and look at the new beach wear, put board back on land.

It was a blast that's for sure. I'm still not believing that a 16m kite powered at 20kns has such a light bar!

talking about boards, do you guys use freeride boards or freestyle boards (that are harder)?

I use 128 too..... board look for nice bindings, if you have choppy location look for a board that will not throw a ton of water in your face etc. Some boards you will fin also help landings.

Try as many as you can its amazing the small differences you will find in each.

Flyradical is a nice board.
125 might be to small.....
