And do pay attention to turning speed...with my 18 I land the most % of my tricks...with 14 the least...because of being too fast!

For security issues, i think its better to evolve progressivly to bigger kites... Im used to ride a 12m, so ill get a 14, and maybe in a couple of years ill be on a 16, or a 18...

And foir the dude that mentioned Epic, I love the Ltd Edition of onte of theyr kites, but we are discussing here kites with the ML...

I ride another brand too, but they don have the ML, thats why we talked a lot about north...

This is so ture! Even more when learning new tricks. The bigger kite will move slower and give you more hang time (to make mistakes and learn the tricks) once you got it down its easier to pull of the trick on a smaller kite.

People get it in their mine that a big kite is dangerous and I'm not sure why. most people will not even come near my 16m. Ok if your kiting off storm fronts and have unpredictable wind this would be an issue for sure.

I must say the Dyno reminds me of the refined wing feeling you get from a foil. The foil feels...... so smooth and refined. A few guys have tested it here and said its almost boring to fly because its so stable.

in the beginnig they never did discuss the ML subject, but those last post i was talking with them about it

I never used a ML, but Toby says that its the best for old school moves

I use the ML for all non rotating tricks.

I always ride very powered...never got hurt...only got hurt once when in 25 knots I used a 12 after a perfect 16m session...the 12 I mis-steered a bit...and bang, my rip got hurt...

And I understand that only very few progress with small kites and the hooked tricks. If you have a bit more age, get a bigger kite and progress again. Otherwise you will get hurt.

One uqestion... this weekend i tried the 14m rebel. loved it... but the sales man told me to get a fuse... he says its as good as a rebel bit without the 5th line, thet can be dangerous... and says that the bar feel is better...


can anyone help me about that issue? is the fuse realy better? or is it faster??

they do have both for sell, in th 14m size.

Fuse is not the kite your after, it will work but not the best fit.

my understand about fuse (never been on one):
- Don't take my word look at the site north website, Fuse Freeride / Wave / Freestyle
- Its for sure faster
- My guess it will also have less bar pressure

Rebel
- Slower kite
- better low end (hard to tell at the end of the day, but you dont care about this)
- 5 line (this is important)

Without getting to technical;
The fifth line, because its a "loaded 5th" distributes the weight though jumps and causes less kite distortion while it holds your weight in jumps. I also think the rebel will have better hang time due to less distortion while jumping. Also the fifth line makes these kite extremely stable.

As your not wave riding you have no reason to concern yourself with the 5th being dangerous and its really to big of a kite to be wave riding anyway (you could wave ride with it but why?)

Know you asked for an "old school kite" go with the Rebel.
