Micro loop question

Postby dorothyinstead » Wed Oct 03, 2012 9:58 am

Can any of the big air stylers tell me...how crucial is it, time wise, to engage/disengage the micro loop, when doing a deadman or similar hands off bar trick?
Is the micro loop entirely necessary?
When do you engage it exactly, when do you disengage exactly?

Thanks.

it goes very fast in and out.

when I pull down the bar to power up for the jump, I hook into it.
Before landing I hook out of it.

A stopper will work as well, but will make the jump less steady and stylish, in terms of smoothness (the pulling down and up part will look shitty).

And with a microloop you have more time for the trick, so more you make it look more stylish and hold the position longer.

If you want to advance, a microloop is your only choice.

I wish I had a micro loop (or at least an option for it).
I can't manage to use the stopper ball (which are actually two pieces on my Epic kites).

Easy enough to make one yourself...for any bar. Use a suitable piece of rope, some plastic tubing, and learn to tie hangman knot on either end. It is adjustable on the bar and does not move when secured. Will post a picture of mine tomorrow.

How important is the releasable option?

How often do you use the release on the micro loop? And where is it situated? Can you post an image of your setup please. Thanks Toby.

Hi,

Do you have your harness hook pointing up?
That "micro loop" is flexible. How do you engage and disengage it? Do you have by any chance a short clip how you do a dead man with that loop?

Cheers
