Thanks Caesar - I assume you drilled the bar to accept the Mico hook, so can anyone confirm if this will adversely affect the strength of the bar? I don't want to do this and then find that my bar snaps!

Can someone also confirm whether or not I have to buy the North quick release?

Finally, as North are only one of many brands out there what are Airstylers doing who don't have a bar with a mico loop doing? I assume you simply rely on the stopper ball, but as Toby has mentioned elsewhere I suspect this has significant draw backs to Airstyling with style.

Hi mate,

Yup, I drilled holes in there. Theoretically any holes will weaken any bar.
I asked North if I could drill holes into the new 2013 bar (that bar doesn't have the holes in there anymore) and they said it would be fine.
The Epic owner told me to do so at my own risk (and I'm sure everybody will tell you the same).

Cheers

North tested the 2013 bar if it is strong enough with holes.
It is ok, but of course, they don't guarantee it.

You need an Iron Heart up to 2012 to fit the hook part onto it.

I do almost all tricks without rotation with the ML.
Yes, it is faster in and out leaving you more time to make it look stylish and more technical.
Plus safer for landings since you can quickly hook out for a depowered landing.
Way more hassle with a stopper!

Sounds like it's time for someone to innovate and come up with a releasable mini loop that can be retro fitted to any bar without drilling or having to replace parts - that way maybe we will see Airstyle take off (no pun intended - well OK, maybe just a small one :D) - any takers anyone?

Hello everyone.
I have no North kite. My choice to have MicroLoop, was buy a North bar 2011 four lines and second hand. At the bar I added MicroLoop-microhook kit. Just adding some knot in the prelines of the kite (change loop for knot when is necesary) I can use this bar with all my kites. VXR Airush 2012 13m, Airush Flow 2008 10m, Naish Charger 2010 7m and Wainman Hawaii 2011 5m. Although the last two not use to Airstyle.

Since I have my bar the Dead man have returned to my beach

he's just talking about adding pigtails to the leaders or bridles on the kite. the bar modification is a kit u buy from north that works on their 2012 bar.
