Positive comment on Airstyle Diary

Hi Toby, your latest posts images are classics. The image with the bikini girl in the foreground and you in the background was easy on the eyes, a well composed image. The following image of you being dragged along the beach with your board slightly behind is wonderful. It shows the rest of us your human side, also the next image with the snapped leash. When we see the perfect shots of all your tricks, we see a man with balls of steel. But you also show the 'Toby Wannabes' the other side of the many hours of practice required.
Well done!

thx for the comment!

sure...more than human! Lots of crashes for sure! Lots of crashing footage...the crash section will be fun!

And with the crash on land I got really lucky...normally there are cars and people...always good to check the wind direction before going big...specially in the morning here in Brazil ;-)
Just hurt the foot...could have been my knees, ribs, head...

The last 50+ tricks are a real challenge...many tricks I never did before...but they are too cool to not show them...and I most likely will land them...I am sure! But I need PERFECT conditions...just the perfect wind...looks like it will come from Wednesday on. Then progress is guaranteed!

Cheers!

It is going to be fun to watch. I hope ou incorporate some slow-motion, especially for the slides and kick flips as they happen so fast in real time.

Wishing you good conditions.

the idea is to have a fast approach, slow trick, fast landing.

so you have every part of the trick (and no one can say I didn't land it). 630 tricks landed (more or less clean!) and counting!

We are currently working on the DVD structure, looks like every section gets a short trailer with the coolest stuff. Then you can watch the tricks of each level.

I am also really curious how it all will look like! But don't know if we can christmas...still sooo much work to do for the final product! But January for sure!

Toby,

Sounds like an excellent approach for showcasing each trick. 630 tricks, that is amazing!

toby maybe you've mentioned this before, but 630 tricks 5 minutes per trick = 52.5 hours of video and a dvd only holds about 2 hours of video, so is this a 27 volume set of dvds? Even if you cut it down to 2.5 hours, it would be a shame not to offer a deluxe super long collector's edition of big air.

Why 5 min per trick?
It is not a how to DVD where every trick gets explained!
We explain the most important for each section, and then show all tricks in a row, sorted by ratings of difficulty.
I guess fast approach, slow trick, fast landing (landings for those who doubt I landed all of them...sorry, but I did!).

But I pretty much assume it will be 2 DVDs...maybe even 3...

Lucky ones who preordered it for the low price (still at 19 Euro, but I am sure this week it goes up to 24 Euro once we stopped filming tricks!)
