Why Not?

Is there any reason not to get an old small kite board only around 30 cm wide and use it for airstyle? I want to get into it but have a heavy wakestyle board and don't want to spend much. Would i be able to be more powered on a small board to go out on a bigger kite with more hang time. Just asking because there are other threads talking about getting very modern boards and I'm not sure if they have any advantages over old ones...

The bigger the kite, and the more power you want to use it with, the smaller the board should be!

With a 30cm wide board youwill be able to hold a lot of pressure.

I am 93 kg and on a Dyno 18 most of the time in winds from 10-25 knots...I use a 128x38 board.

Are old boards just as good as newer ones for it? Or are the old designs too heavy.

there is too heavy and too light. If it has 4+ kg, I would call it too heavy. But the ones I wrote over the years were never really too heavy, so don't worry.

The bigger, old Naish Stubbie was really heavy...but cool ;-)
