Correct way for a progression? High jumps first v Tricks?

Hello people!

I just wanted to ask you opinions about what is the correct way to progress on AirStyle?

Profile: Right now i ride for 3 months (almost each day). Im pretty much comfortable with big kites, boards... with going up-wind & make fast decisions to avoid some "collide-potential" situations (which oftenly happen on Boracay because of the "students" traffic).

So, in other words: Im pretty much comfortable on all the basic things.
And i just start jumps a month ago. I have a lot of mental problems with "tight" straps settup (i mention it on the previous post). I was terrified till the level of paranoia about the broken ankles\kness (which i saw like 10 times here on Boracay during these 3 montsh).

But as soon as Toby explained me the idea of "totally loose" straps - everything goes smooth and fine. Im not afraid of water crashes anymore, because the board just went off easily (or even if rotates on.
------------------------

So what i do now, is im practicing like 1-3meters high jumps.

But where should i "go" now?

- Should i continue to practice clear jumps (without any actual tricks). And make those jumps smoother, with more power & make them higher & higher (till...m...... 4-6 meters?)

- OR i should already start to practice some "basic" tricks? Btw, what are they? Which one is "basic"? :-)

So, any clues on what type of practive i should concentrate?

PS: Mentally i just want to jump higher & higher & HIGHER right now ;-)

But i donno anything about the tricks...

In my case, I concentrated on jumping first then started doing "tricks"... I find it's easier to go big with say, back-rolls, when I know what's waiting for me after I send the kite.

Basic tricks are back- and front-rolls. On their own, then work them into transitions. Foot-outs and board-offs come next, I think. Look around here...

Keep practicing higher jumps...until you have the feeling for the kite and soft landings...so you could even jump without looking at the kite.

Try to hold down the kite with more and more power...the higher you will go.

For tricks, get my DVD www.airstyle.tv , available end of April...here is a rating for all tricks from 1-5.
Start looking at Rating 1 and get inspired...then keep practicing those and keep pushing your level higher and higher...

good luck!!!
