How to build a "Bar Lock" for Airstyls tricks?

Hi Kiters, first post here :D

I ride a 12m Cabrinha Switchblade 2010, and I love the AirStyle Tricks :D

Looking the videos, I've seen that Toby has a sort of "other small chicken loop" that block the bar in "full power", so he can relase the hands and perform tricks without losing the kite power...

How to do something similar on my bar? Is there something to buy or I have to "do it myself" in some way?

thank you!

3 choices, 1) do it yourself, 2) get an old bar 3) use sliding stopper. Last manufacturer off minihook was north on their 2012 accessory. You can use the sliding stopper on all the below the bar depower systems, you slide it up to stop the bar for your deadman or board pass same functionality but it doesn't look as styling as the minihook.

Hi,

Please see a very cheap option below. Worked fine for me for 2 years. Then I replaced the clip with a new one since the old one got a bit rusty.
It costs a few Cents in your local hardware store.
If you want to go the easy and elegant way, buy a 2012 North bar (4 lines) and the micro-hook upgrade kite for Euro12 or so.

Hi Danz,

welcome on KF !

It is called a "Microloop". See picture below. Back then all bars more or less had it, then only Core and North, now no one anymore...

You could also add a windsurf loop to your bar, which is the fastest way...but, you cannot release it, so it is dangerous.

You could buy an older bar from Core or North, who had it (North until 2012) and create your bar for your kite. I think it is the best option for you.
Or drill two holes into your bar, and get the North Iron Heart Quick Release, buy a Microloop Update, and add this.

Adding the North QR to the Cabrinha system wont work (they have the plastic coated lines).

thank you for all answers :)

I think I will drill my bar and adapt the north micro loop, this is easy...but first I have to see where I can place the hook for it ;)

You can, but you have to exchange the depower lines to the North ones.

Drilling hole means you have to use two sizes, since the upper part is a bit bigger to fit the plastic peace, which prevents the loop from slipping.
If you ise the North microloop upgrade kit
