Airstyle kit initiative

There are quite some topics about custom bars (miniloops), custom T-handles, Grab rails, oversized straps and line extensions.

All equipement that is needed for Airstyle.

At the moment it is necessary to buy all parts separate and its quite often not that easy (I ended up with spending a lot of time finding what I needed and Im still not done after 1-2 months)

I would love the idea of an Airstyle kit:

- Universal miniloop set, mountable on all bars on the market
- T- Handle, hight adjustable
- Universal Grab rails (4 corners, 2 edges)
- Universal Straps with good/soft sidewalls also when set to over-oversize (optional/separate)
- 5m extensions for lines (optional/separate)

Of course the miniloop would need to have perfect angle settings and durability, the T-handle would need to be made of titan-alloy etc.

Now here is my suggestion: Lets contact manufacturers and ask them for this product and support them with developing it

North, Naish, Flysurfer and all the others. With the knowledge of the forum and a support thread where pre-orders can be made (no-one would produce this not knowing he could sell a few hundred of those) we might get what we want.

There are hundreds or thousands of Airstylers out there and it will be more an more soon - but the sport needs the right equipement to grow. I dont think it can grow when most equipement you can use is 2012 and older or modified custom versions that sometimes might lack safety and/or comfort

Here is what I would think reasonable prices would be:

- Universal miniloop set 100 Euros
- T- Handle, hight adjustable 40 Euros
- Universal Grab rails 30 Euros
- Universal oversize Straps 80 Euros
- 5m extensions for lines 30 Euros

So for 250 Euros I think it would make sense. It would still be profitable for a manufacturer.

Flysurfer for example already has a few products in their portfolio. (Straps (maybe could be improved on sidewalls a bit), Grab Rails, line extensions).

What do you think guys and girls?

Sounds great!
Will support it for sure.

I think an universal ML won't need to be that expensive.

The Flysurfer straps work excellent, pretty soft at the side and can be made huge (me 47 EU size and have it pretty big).

Why adjustable handle? One size should fit it all.

Just to explain what I call T-Handle:
It is not about the handle itself, it is about the trick, when my foot is into the handle.

Great Toby!

Well, adjustable T-Handle (I like the name because of the trick) because not everybody has the same feet. I know that from snowboard custom made boots.

The instep (German: rist) of a foot is different for everyone. As far as I am concerned, now if you can adjust your straps, so should you be able to adjust your T-handle to your foot, no?

A girl will not need 6,5 - 7cm like the two of us, she more likely will need 5,5 cm. I think if the sidewalls will be adjustable from 4-8 cm everybody will be happy.

NOW: if you say the distance doesnt really matter, everybody will be hapy with 8cm because it is not important to have conact with the board at the same time (with your soles) as you have contact with the instep with the T-handle its a different story?

Sorry for double posting, but I guess this (discussed in Custom Handle thread) belongs here.
Is there anyone from the industry reading in the Airstyle forum?

I guess there is only 3 companies at the moment that it would make sense for to be contacted/convinced by us to come up with an Airstyle line:

- North (because of the Dyno 2011 and the bars/microloops)
- Naish (because of the Draft Kites)
- Flysurfer (because of the Radical 2011 S R3, the Straps and Grabrails)

Ideally they should offer at least an Airstyle Kit:

- T-Handle
- Grabrails
- Universal Microloop Kit for all brands's bars
- Airstyle oversize straps
- Line extensions

I guess it would be very little effort for those companies to come up with an Airstyle Kit.

Maybe in the future own Airstyle boards (right aspect ratio weight/length and ability to hold edge) and Airstyle Kites (Hangtime, smooth control) would make sense too.

Like wave riders and racers we need specific gear.
Without my gear I could not do 666 tricks.

So as it is always money that talks, we should have numbers to show the industry.

How many Airstylers are out there - therefore possible sales numbers.
A small indicator could be the Airstyle forum section - how many posters did we have here and in other airstyle forums (are there any?) which could be a small percentage of the total number.
