Ken Winner's comment:

Yes, the size of the "V" matters. Some kites are more sensitive than others.
We've been paying a lot of attention to this lately. Many riders won't notice differences, but some of the more experienced ones will.

Yes indeed. Where his comments public somewhere?

When I tested the Rebel 18, I used my 2011 bar. Might explain some things. 18 Had to go back to shop. Not enough time on it to write good review.

Well yes it is true. I experimented with the north dice quote a bit, different Y even down to a standard V at the bar. Low V better low end, turns quicker, more direct feel..but on the dice built for a high Y, you get far less throw before you stall it out. Also increased bar pressure and less stable at its top end.

Not sure one metre over that length will be that noticeable. I tried it yesterday...it did seem to want to fly forward more...was building apparent wind better, hunted the edge better. But I might just be looking for something, needs a closer look really. Hence it's low end (was lightish, 13-15) in current oceanic stuff seemed to improve...again I'm not certain of this.
