Rebel 18 AirStyle first feedbacks

Postby danz » Thu Jun 04, 2015 12:18 am

I'm learning that kite...just the one sold by "black jack" on this forum. I'm 1.83cm and my weight is 85Kg.

I've used it for now with 16-17knots maximum with a 136*41 board...without any problems...
yes on the very first runs I had to understand the pull, the timing on the jumps and much more, but now after 10-15 kite days I find it very stable and easy to use.

Airstyle board (129*39) has been delivered yesterday so the next days I can try it also with more wind.

If you feel very overpowered try to set the back lines 1 knot longer on the bar (move away the bar floaters and change the setting)...this will give you much depower with the bar on the top

On the first runs never go too fast or it's easy to float and lose the edge...expecially with choppy water or waves. But when you find your speed, it's fantastic to jump and feel the "no gravity" for many seconds :)

New feedbacks will come soon!

bye

standard setup...(all lines same lenght) with a 129*39 Kiteloose Mobius board :)

4 hours of action...fun to the maximum level :)

I've got many pics and videos...Nothing specials but I'm learing the kite and its timing and this give me the confidence to try new tricks...

Welcome!

Happy to hear you are having fun.
Having confidence in your gear will make you progress a lot.

Also try to inner settings of the bar...I see you are using the outer connection...this will slow it down even more and give you more control.
Try and see if you like it!

Enjoy!!!

Thanks Danz. Sweet shots showcasing the great sculpting potential of airstyle, if anyone needed the extra incentive. Bet you have a Dead Man in the archive. Nice!

the deadman has been my first trick ever :D :thumb:

The best part of AirStyle is that once you learned to "fly" the kite during the airtime, it's all about pratice and testing...the progression is very fast :)
