Exactly right.

Here it is:
viewtopic.php?f=107&t=2387451

As I see it, FS Radical has more straight outline. To be fair, only after mega or giga hours of kiting (and not couch surfing! :), one could purely benefit from a board.
But this would be so tiny benefit compared to ie handle or straps made for air style.

My reasoning about the performance/price with a DIY is: huge performance/ultra low price (or divide a board price/number of hours on the water per year - same for any piece of equipment). That is a cost you paying. If a higher cost makes you a better kiter, great. Whatever works. For you. But may or may not for others.

Thx, looks sweet!

But, an advice: those North fins are very sharp.
And with Airstyle tricks this can be dangerous!
Better to sand them down a bit to make them less sharp.

Would you guys say that the F-One Trax HRD with the F-One straps works well for board offs and airstyle?
Should I replace the standard handle? Should I add some kind of grab handle as seen in Jeremie Tronets Jesus walk video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_TeNlkHMRY )?
Where do I get one of those on the european market?

I have found the T-handle that is sold on Airstyle.tv.

I also found out that the soft grab aids are called grab rails.
No feedback at all on how to get those?

Is it possible that the Trax HRD is too heavy?

Flysurfer sold them, not sure if still.

I think epic kites also sells them.

But you can easily make them from old Baird pads from surfers or foot pads from Kiteboards.

Yes, the handle I sell on www.airstyle.tv is the best.

Normally, the FS Radical would come with a 'grab' foams.

Toby, how would you rate the FS R. ver.4 ? I have an opportunity to buy one 126cm now.

Cheers

I tried it and it works fine, but a bit too light for me...which means for really hard tricks, which I assume you don't do.

So I don't see a problem for you to get it...small size, which is good!

The foam grabs are ok for the tips...the one for the middle is a bit low and soft...I enforced it with a bit of old deck pad from surfer...just a stripe on top and in front, those areas where you grab it...now it is perfect and makes me land way more tricks !!!

Not perfect to see...but at least. The black part is the original from Flysurfer...the white is the part from the surf board pad.

So you just cut some EVA pieces from a surf deck pad? How do you make it stick on the board and other EVA like material respectively?

Hi Toby

I picked up the Radical 4 yesterday, it is in a very good condition, with a centre grab. I noticed quite thick rails though, does that affect the ride? Like, can you dig deep enough?

Was always under impression that the thin rails are better, like Monk has super thin rails, me making boards with max 4mm rails as well.

Cheers
