I'm determined to finally nail a board off and a board off 360. They've always been my trick goal.
I have loose straps, a higher handle, and have been working on flexibility and sitting in a chair putting on and off board (with eyes closed for better muscle memory)
So a few tips please.
1. Better to start with a tail grab and then back foot then front foot off or better to start with a handle grab?
2. With handle grab do you bring the board up with your body rotating back or is your body more vertical and are you reaching down to grab handle?
3. With handle grab are you sort of flipping the board off into your hands as you do the grab?
So what helped you?
Any thoughts, suggestions greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the world of progression
1. Better to start with a tail grab and then back foot then front foot off or better to start with a handle grab?
I would train to get into the straps at the same time, not one foot then the other...I know people who cannot get rid of this behavior and do crash more due to this.
2. With handle grab do you bring the board up with your body rotating back or is your body more vertical and are you reaching down to grab handle?
Don't reach down...lean back and lift your feet. Like you do it sitting on a chair...
3. With handle grab are you sort of flipping the board off into your hands as you do the grab?
Flipping does help a bit, specially when flexibility (or muscles) missing. I tend to kick it up a bit when I have a wetsuit on...but without no problems to reach it. Once you figured it out and are trained to do it you can easily take it off.

Toby thanks.
I know that you use the microloop for everything but rotations but would it make sense to get use to not using the microloop on the non rotational board off so the transition to the rotational board off will be easier?

Why make life less easy?
I don't see an advantage by not using it for non rotation tricks.

So Toby do you think when you are grabbing the handle you have rotated back and feet up so that the reach is basically horizontal? I've been trying to tell from watching the videos but it is hard to tell. What I can tell is that you get the board off amazingly fast. I have some videos of you in San Andres doing front 1080 board offs in very light wind with only about a 8 to 10 foot jump height. Very little time in the air to get the board ofd, three rotations and then board back on.

Yes, I am amazingly fast !
On the DVD I have a Backroll Boardoff (not Back 360!). You know how fast a Backroll is without moving the kite. And while rotating I am taking the board off and on.
Just watch a trick and stop the video when I take it off...
