Full bindings

Hi guys,
I've got a set of unions but their size M and although great for on the cable I can't bare to wear them more than 10min when kiting as my feet go numb. So I just ordered some LF Elements in L size. My question is, are the kite specific LF bindings alot lighter than their wake equivalents. If not then I've done the right thing in not going for the escalades no?
Anyway....can't wait to get em on this weekend...
