ask Lou or Maricio...

yeah for sure it works...! like riding 2 lines with the option to alter the power if you feel the need...

I rode pully and C right up until i got a job at a kite store and could then ride anything from the demo pile... :thumb:

My mistake...i meant to say a pulley bar from a bow kite, such as the older cabrinha crossbows.

:thumb: Yeah, Pulley Bar, Why would anyone try that antiquated relic of the past, set up?
It's crazy to think that someone would want direct response from their kite with zero bar pressure. :jump:
Oh, I'm sorry you were most likely talking about some other pulley bar set up.. :thumb:
I do not think Lou or Maricio are still riding the classic pulley bars. But, Some people told me that they actually still work. :cool2:
I'm talking about the pulley bars, not Lou & maricio.. :duh:

gidday,

I purchased 7.5 & 5.5 08 Generators last NZ winter - now we're into summer & steadier thermal breezes I have been using a pulley bar & I rate it.

Hat probly could fill you in on what sle / hybrid /"delta" kites work on pulley bar- I hear Felix has changed to Eclipse Kima & is riding it fixed.

The main things I notice compared to a standard bar is the pulley bars smooth leverage from higher above the bar on the pulley when you steer the kite. The front lines roll across & increase the responsiveness of the kite in the turns

I would be interested to hear about this kinda shiz from these dudes, but they are probably too busy ridin to talk techo on this tweaker forum.

Whatever happened to SWK ? He used to write about what was going on with the guys pushing progressive surf+kite. Probably too busy riding making boards & doing video an pics.

I dont think your Cabs will work on pulley bar mate but you never know

Maybe I've misunderstood something, but to me it seems the question is:

Can I use a 2:1 "Bow/SLE" kite bar with a C kite ?

A pulley bar in "original terms" is a bar where the center lines are connected to a pulley on a single line mounted at the bar ends (but rear lines connected to the bar ends as usual, fixed) - so you get a bar without a CL and where you can hold the bar dead centered with one hand - great for wake and passes :thumb:
This bar is 1:1 and will increase turning automatically when you pull hard to one side :D

But I assume you mean a 2:1 bar, when you ask about a "pulley" bar ?

And yes, you COULD use a 2:1 bar with a C kite, but I am pretty sure it will be waaaaay too heavy as you double the bar pressure, and C kites has a lot more bar pressure than all 2:1 bow kites because of the geometry.

Kindly, Peter Frank

"SLE" bar with pulleys:

Note - the pulleys are at the bar ends, so the bar is 2:1

Note - the only pulley is at the center, so the bar is 1:1 and no chicken loop depower, but still a trim strap.

I don't see why it wouldn't work
as long as you could get the trim correct
for the conditions
