Drysuit repair + any places near St. Petersburg for wetsuits

Postby markchatwin » Mon Nov 14, 2011 7:19 pm

My Ocean Rodeo drysuit needs a new neck seal. The folks at OR say I can do this repair myself. I am leary of that since the first time I do something I've never done before I screw it up... I called a local Dive shop and they farm out the work to someplace in Indiana. They claim a typical neck seal job is about $200 plus takes a couple weeks.

So since I don't want to spend that much and need the drysuit for a trip next week to St. Pete's Beach I'm weighing my options. Though I don't think I need a drysuit in Florida my other neoprene is only a shorty which may not be enough if it's windy and temps in the 60's...SO I'm asking if there's a shop around St. Pete's where I could pick up a full wetsuit or better yet anybody do drysuit repair down there?

Try seatux@comcast.com. Port Charlotte. I do not know about drysuit but wetsuits for sure.

Google seatux and you will get loads of positive comments.

I am happy with his pricing and responsiveness.

Don't give in to your fears. :nono:
It is really easy to replace a neck or wrist or ankle seal on these OR suits.
They have a very good tutorial on the process in the manual that came with the suit or online in the support section.
I replaced the wrist seal on my surf dry recently and it took maybe 15 minutes tops.

These are the best suits on the planet IMO :thumb:
