from wakeboard to kitesurfing

Postby leolo » Mon Nov 16, 2015 7:25 pm

i have a problem to get the lines of my kite slack like in wakeboarding.
the kite is always pulling to hard and i can not get the handlepass.
when i go wakeboarding i wating a moment in the air till the power is gone and than i strart the handlepass in inverts like 313 or other tricks.
what is the trick to get this slack?

a lotta technique and the right kite.....C

Before you go into the progressive "J" carve that will load up your lines, head downwind for a couple seconds at the kite to let it fall back in the window a little deeper for more oomph when you load it.

Commit in your head to losing some downwind ground and don't try and do your load an pop directly across the wind.

As above. Some kites give much better slack than others. Have a look at the wakestyle kites in most ranges.

Edge harder and faster. Depending on the wind you might have to go down wind more or less. The more wind you have the further down wind you need to go before edging. You will not get the same level of slack with a kite as you do wakeboarding.

I ride cable a lot as well as kite. I'm so used to edging super hard I shake the whole system. Most people don't like it when I'm on the carrier in front or behind them lol.
