Is a lot of air bubbles moving down the keel? Watch the video made by underwater air bubbles can hardly see.

i don't know that either mfg copied the other., if that was the implication.
this concept has been used in ship building for several years.
I like it the way it's coming through the horse's mouth :claps: :bang: :surf:

I don't think this is an engineered solution. The arch gives a much longer effective length to try and keep torsional deflection under control. The longer mast length also gives much greater wetted surface = more drag.

2 most successful "fast" foils (Sword and Spotz) use straight masts = keep it simple

More wetted surface, lower aspect ratio towards the foils.

Who says that a small amount ventilation on the back side of the mast is a bad thing?

There was no rake on the AC72's foils which travel faster and therefore are more prone unwanted trailing edge ventilation. The only rake present was a byproduct of trying to control the AoA of the daggerboards which was in the +-1 degree range during racing.

The design could work if there are some odd interactions that normal modeling does not reveal, but I doubt it is better than the straight Spotz, AA or semi straight Zeeko foils.

Tone, your such a negative prick. really, all you do is put this whole project down, down, down.

The foil you feature in your photo is a S bend, not a curved arch.

Also, the attachment plate is a copy of the Carafino original T bars.

People like you are the reason why I have never in my life spent time on a forum.

That's the problem with the internet, every "prick" has an opinion.

The Spotz and Sword foils have a long, thin and straight mast - it's easier to make, has less drag and more importantly, has less torsion.

i agree with easier to make--that's pretty obvious. But give some facts to less drag and less torsion. Twisting can be a problem as with the LIFT foil so i'm really interested in how you came to this conclusion.

I think it may be the lift foil that has a core as opposed to sword which may be solid carbon?
info about construction and flex etc is on french foiling site.

Carafino
Do you have pictures of your raceboard? Will your foil and board be strong enough for 110kg riders?
Or can I order the foil and board with extra reinforcements for some extra $? How long will your 2 for 1 sale last?
