Is it true? Airush, Axis & F-One working on foils?

Postby droffats » Fri Jan 31, 2014 5:27 am

According to the latest issue of The Kiteboarder, Airush, Axis, and F-One are all working on producing hydrofoils.

Anyone know anything juicy?

Thanks,
Stafford

Well, I believe so....this is what Airush write when Julian Kerneur joined their team:

"Airush Headquarters: Cape Town, South Africa – Julien’s focus and versatility has brought his attention to Airush International where recently they approached him to take their Slalom, Course, Foil, and Lightwind development to the next level."
- Which sounds like they will come up with a foil.

Regarding Takoon - it seams that they team up with Ketos?:

This looks like an Aguera racefoil prototype

Alex Aguera write about it:
New Aguera Foil with the Patent Pending system I have developed for attaching wings. The wings totally surround the fuselage which makes for a solid connection. It is much harder to build, but I feel it is a more solid and reliable way to attach wings.

Hello,
I have heard rumors of F-one working on a foil for at least 2 years now, but still nothing?
I see it this way.
Many times in wind below 10 knts or so the only guys on the h20 are foilers, so all the guys on the beach with normal gear can`t ride and of course want to, especially if they are on vacation or simply have limited time to play.
So foils get exposure!! And so easy to see a foil flyer above the h20!
Plus foils just look cool, and I remember the first time I saw a good flyer (Marc Blanc in 2009) was so impressed!
I think (I could see it completely wrong) that the bigger names in our sport were waiting to see if foiling would have enough interest, meaning potential buyers ,to merit a lot of time and money to release a GOOD foil.
Takoon has made the jump, and what about Naish, North?
What do you think? :?:
