BraCuru Foilboards

Postby BraCuru » Wed Mar 05, 2014 1:17 pm

I concentrated on building an ultimate board for racing and light wind conditions in last 6 months.
Built 6 prototypes and tested throughout.
Final outcome is a board which is max 150x55cm and thickness 9cm.

It's a custom handmade board in Poland with bamboo deck and bottom, 3 straps, compatible with all Moses foils.

Straps are fitted to the deck by bolts not screws! Really do not know why all manufactures stay with screws. IBTW: no screwdriver required to fit straps and foil. All fittings use a single hexagonal key which can be kept in a harness knife pocket, aquapack or just inside adjustable strap. This is important if you like cruising - never know where you end up and where you would need to dismantle a foil.

My final board is pretty fat. Why?
For racers – it’s important to have a volume platform under feet during starting procedure and it’s easier to launch it in a case of wind lull. Not all racers are going to do aerial gybes and tacks! Especially in light winds.
For non-racers riding in sub 10 knots conditions – this size allows even to heavy riders to cruise with max 13m kite. You do not need bigger kite.

I am going to produce it only on direct demand as a custom board. It means you might change some parameters too. Waiting period – 2 weeks to produce, 1 week to deliver.
I can take orders from May.

Price? Sorry guys but cannot afford to offer special deals for you.
800€ including DaKine Contour Straps, proper bag, bolts; excluding shipping. This is the best what I can achieve making small amount of handmade boards in Poland.

Looks like a really fine board! Can we see how the foil attaches on the bottom?

Cheers,
Fred

Looks good!

What are the two strips of deck grip on the rail of the bamboo board for? Do your feet actually get that far out?

The edges of bamboo board were damaged in transportation so I had to protect it against metal depower cleat hitting it during the kite relaunching.

In the prototypes there are two attaching Moses positions and it looks like this:

There will be only one attaching position In the final board.

BTW. To get max from a racing board three straps is a must. Can't believe that any board with two straps can deliver max performance.
