John great looking foil and board myfriend.. it is a piece of art for sure. Have built a few wooden boards myself and it is for the enjoyment of it for sure. Keep up the great work

I just hope my rides as good as yours looks when I am done.

Very nice looking set up.... but front wing sitting on the top of fuselage? or is it reversible?

I sure wish I could let guys who have at least controlled flying level, test flat wings and then fly the EXACT same profile, plan form wings, but with F wing anhedral and R wing dihedral or at least a vert element, T T style fin. We have done this.
Then they would understand why almost all of the evolved KBHF manufactururs do this. :thumb:
I would like flat wings to work well as they would be much easier to make, but I know better.
Do flat wings work? Yes. How much better do curved and, or angled tiped wings fly, a lot!
And the sad thing is that guys with no reference will just not know the difference. :(

Isn't the Spotz front wing (slalom I think) almost entirely flat?

I don't think the wooden foil is designed for racing, its more like a classic caddy, nice and smooth and really easy on the eye!

My main issue with the wooden foil is the way the front wing is mounted on top, meaning all the pressure is on the fixings. i.e. much easier to pull out.

Hi Guys!
Thanks Terrie, yes its a craft I thoroughly enjoy.

Great comments:
To Rev; Wings are not flat.

-Specific Foil Board with plenty of nose rocker for touch down
-Round rails for smooth transition during planning to foiling
-Slidable track for precise mast position
-Alloy Mast & Fuselage (breaks down for easy packing)
-Light wieght for easy take off (wings float).
-Moderate Wing Profile with plenty of Anhedral/Dihedral
-Production wings have PVC full perimeter binding for protection and easy repair.
-Comes with Deck Pad & 3-straps (choice of colors)
-Future Fin Box (fin not included)

To Tone:
I have done both above and below the fuselage. My findings with having the front wing mounted below that there is an initial force pushing down ontop of the wing as lift is applied whereas is less stressed with it mounted ontop. However I believe it is fine either way. I may change down the road to incorporating a recessed cavity. BTW: Stringy has been doing the 'above wing mount' for nearly a year with no failures.

My wings are not race wings, rather they are a smooth 'non-twitchy' easy going hydrofoil that are easy to turn as well.

Please excuse me very much John, from your first photos
they both look flat, super to see they are not! :thumb:
Now everyone else can see the wing curves so I hope my question was not in vain and in the end better for you!

John trust me I know how much work you have into one. The price you are asking for the complete package you are do it for the labour of love

Nice board Terrie!, how does she ride?

I really notice quite a difference between production boards and the boards I make, thats what keeps me going. Feedback from foilers about my board has been very positive with comments such as: easy to foil, smooth, no twitchiness and surfy. (I couldn't ask for more)
You might say I love what I do for sure. I've been a wood worker, engineer and board shaper for a very long time. I am very curious to how much, or how far I can go with my method of construction. I know I will stay just custom and just progress at a pace which I enjoy.

I cant hack the carbon dust although it does have many benefits.

All the best,
John
