I dont understand that post at all...
A working foil that is inexpensive, a great thing to share and sell so others can start "easy".
I've seen many homebuild foils, and they work just fine all of them, no matter how they are made.
When you get better, you migth want "expensive" and fast hydrofoils yes, but does not matter at all, when you start.
In fact a huge advantage, to have a foil you are less "sensitive" about - as it will get a lot of beating when you start
